Organization overview
For over 94 years, Pitney Bowes has been the leader in the postage meter industry but has innovated and evolved in recent years to provide global eCommerce solutions, shipping and mailing products, location intelligence and more.
When Pitney Bowes launched a global rebrand, it required a powerful solution to support employees through the transition - fast. In just 6 weeks Unily delivered a branded intranet that allowed the company to communicate its new brand to 14,000 employees worldwide.
If you've ever shipped a package on eBay or checked in at a location on Facebook, you've used Pitney Bowes services. The Connecticut-based technology company powers billions of transactions across the world of commerce every year.

Delivering the right message to the right people
It was essential that the intranet enabled the new modern Pitney Bowes to shine through, delivering the right message to the right people to keep them informed during a period of change. To ensure that each user receives the right message relevant to their role, communications are targeted by location, role and department and delivered in localized language. Users can choose their primary language from their profile and also personalize the content they want to see by choosing Topics they’re interested in, ensuring relevancy. With Yammer integrated across all internal communications content, users can like, share and comment on the news around them.
Helping colleagues to get work done
The intranet is not purely a platform for internal communications, but also a hub to get work done. The intranet is now the central gateway for essential applications and tools that employees use on a day-to-day basis to complete work. This has helped to not only cut down time searching for the right application to use, but has also helped to inform employees of when and where to use each application. Every user can easily personalize the apps repository to highlight the apps they want to see front and center on the intranet, helping to cut through the noise of a global organization.
Representing the brand perfectly
The intranet is used to support the new brand not just through messaging and content, but also through the look and feel of the intranet. Pitney Bowes has been able to apply new branding, colour schemes and logos across the site, which has user- experience and ease of use at heart. This has helped users to become accustomed to the new image of the company through internal channels.

"One of the really important things for us was to get the brand message out to employees, and to get the RIGHT brand message out to employees. I now get the right message for my location and for my role."
Supporting global collaboration
With the ability to handle multiple languages on a single intranet, Pitney Bowes were able to consolidate multiple intranet systems that were previously separate. Bringing together information from France, India and more has provided a global transparency that could not exist before, but has also enabled disparate colleagues to communicate, collaborate and share like never before. The new intranet supports global collaboration by:
Making colleagues and skills easier to find with a centralized people directory with powerful refining search by skills, location, name and department.
Giving every employee a face with easy to edit profiles that surface ‘What I’m Working On’, Skills, Experience and more. Skype for Business integration allows for instant messaging straight from people profiles.
Providing a platform for social collaboration with ESN Yammer seamlessly integrated into the intranet. Employees can comment on internal communications, share documents and grow their networks from within the intranet. Providing digital workspaces for colleagues to collaborate, share information, find people, interact in conversations and more.
Centralizing document management with a united repository that surfaces documents from every location a user has permissions to view. Integrated with OneDrive and SharePoint, users can collaborate on documents directly from the intranet.
