Gamification across Unily allows users to attach custom badges to users’ profiles when they’ve achieved a particular milestone. This could be for a whole host of achievements, such as; most sales in a week, best customer service that month, 100% complete profile or employee of the month, to name a few. Badges are intuitively managed through Unily’s content management system, with the ability to edit icons, images and colors. We’ve recently been hard at work updating Unily’s badges functionality and we’re excited for you to see the new updates!

Anyone can award badges with ease
Rewarding colleagues with badges has never been easier. Find whoever you wish to congratulate from numerous locations across Unily, select ‘Award Badge’ from the actions menu on their profile card and pick the badge. Leave a ‘Congratulations!’ message and make someone’s day. The recipient will then automatically receive a desktop and Unily app notification letting them know about your award.

Take control
Any employee can award a colleague with a badge. With granular permissions, your admins can control who is able to award badges. For example, have a small group of badge awarders who use badges to denote if someone is part of the leadership team, is a first-aider or has recently gained a qualification. Or use them amongst all employees to encourage peer-to-peer recognition between teams, departments and communities.
A badge for every team
Give everyone including teams, departments and communities their own badges. The new functionality allows users to easily create categories of badges to use across your entire organization. For example, team leaders can encourage recognition by awarding team members with ‘Most Productive’ or ‘Top Performer’ badges, whilst Human Resources can reward new starters for completing all onboarding tasks with a ‘100% complete profile’ badge. Badge folders ensure CMS admins can organize various badge categories effectively in the Unily CMS.
Recognize awardees
The enhanced Badges widget works perfectly wherever you need it. Use it to showcase your recent awardees, or to ensure employees awarded with specific role-type badges are clearly visible. Designed to work on both desktop and the Unily app, for both Hub and Engage users, badges can be managed and displayed from any Badge repository in the Unily CMS, therefore used on any page you choose. The example below shows the new badges widget used on an onboarding page to recognize those new starters who have completed their profiles.

Drive digital workplace engagement
Is your engagement in decline? Why not use badges to incentivize your employees by introducing some competition between them. Recognize ‘The most engaged’, ‘Top contributors’ (on Social) or even who has the most completed and up to date user profile.
